I always wanted to eat healthily and live healthily. But always almost everyone told me to eat fish, eggs, chicken and mutton to get more protein and nutrition.

I thought they are all correct. Being a bengali girl, I ate non-vegetarian throughout my life and encouraged others also to eat non-vegetarian cuisines. During my college days, I used to laugh at vegetarian friends. I wondered a thousand times that where do they get all nutrition from.
It was in October 2019, I started researching for a vegan diet. Till date read about many celebrities and their vegan lifestyle. In the meantime, Netflix launched ”The Game Changers”. It\’s all about the vegan diet and how it helps consumers to improve their immunity. I watched that movie and almost was in tears by the end. I thought I have been torturing my health for so long.
I still thought that I will continue the vegan diet / plant-based diet for a month and will see the results. if the results are satisfactory then I will continue this lifelong. I started it simply with rice, lentils, salad, all green and leafy vegetables every day. Within a week, I started observing the following improvements in my health:
- Started sleeping like a baby
- Cured heel pain after prolonged rest
- Hair and nail quality improved
- Gained lot of energy
- Stopped taking nap at work

- Skin quality improved
After noticing these changes, I told myself, whatever it takes I will continue with it. And the rest is history. It\’s been 6 months I am practising veganism and I wish I could do it before.
