Lets pledge for a healthy environment around us

When I started researching about the vegan diet or let\’s say plant-based diet, I found a long list of sportsmen and other celebrities practising veganism for quite a long time. It compelled me to research more. It forced me to count the benefits rigorously. That was the moment I thought I should try this for a month. I continued for a month and the rest is history.

Venus Williams (lawn tennis); Lewis Hamilton (formula 1); Kyrie Irving (basketball); Fabian Delph (footballer); Barny du Plessis (bodybuilder and the world’s first vegan Mr. Universe in 2014); Kendrick Yahcob Farris (weightlifting) and many more sportsmen turned vegan to boost their immunity or to get rid of some kind of auto-immune diseases.
The basic reason behind the sports personalities turning to vegan has improved immunity. With the help of the plant-based diet, lung capacity increases in no time. It also helps them to recover rapidly from injuries. As per various doctors, plant-based diet keeps your cardiovascular health at the top of its game. It also reduces inflammation in the body, hence helps individuals to recover faster from injuries.

Sports personalities are highly concerned about their health, hence they are turning vegan. Don\’t you think that we should also think about our lifestyle? In the year 2019, almost 600,000 people turned vegan globally, which is about 1.16% of the entire world population. In fact, the Oxford Martin School also opined that if entire humankind turns vegan now, then we can save more than 8 million human lives by 2050. Death rates can be minimised. Dramatical cut in greenhouse cell emission can easily be observed. Climate changes of $1.5 trillion (US) can be saved.

Dr. Marco Springmann of the Oxford Martin Programme on the Future of Food says that what we eat directly influences our health, mental well-being and the global environment. So my request to all of my readers is to take a pledge to save our Mother Earth. It\’s our home, so let\’s not destroy our home. Let\’s not make it difficult for our future generations. The way we keep savings and other help saved for our kids, let\’s keep our Earth healthy for our kids. Let\’s give them a healthy environment.
