Chronological ageing is universal in everyone\’s life. Whether you like it or not, we can never bypass ageing. Ageing in men comes little later, but ageing in women enters earlier. Plant-based diet experts are saying that a simple plant-based diet can make you age gracefully and slowly. You will look old as per your age.

Recently, an article titled Plant-based Diets for Healthy Aging published in the Journal of the American College of Nutrition. A team of physicians and dietitians reviews the epidemiological studies and clinical trials closely related to ageing. People who were consuming vegetarian food for many years were ageing slowly and wrinkles were less on their faces. Many people also think ageing and longevity are the same. But longevity signifies your lifespan and ageing signifies the period its taking and the results we are seeing. The more our age, the more we are susceptible to various diseases as the immunity reduces with age.
As per the Oxford Vegetarian Society Study, the vegan diet promotes a high level of longevity in humans. Pramil Singh wrote a book named Vegetarian Nutrition Volume 3, where he mentioned that the low meat-eaters shows a significant reduction to falling sick. This extensive study was showing potential results as in how human bodies become less functional with growing age. Though this is available at the theoretical stage, still significant changes can be seen in vegans\’ as they consume vegetarian food for a longer period.

There are various anti-ageing theories, such as dietary restrictions (DR); calorie restriction (CR); restriction of certain nutrients; consumption of protein and non-protein diet, and so on. So now, the million-dollar question is what should we consume to age slowly and gracefully. Scientists found a component named \”mimetics\”. Mimetics are very selective nutrients found in vegetables and fruits are also known as resveratrol. Triggers the same anti-ageing process in human bodies and boosts longevity compared to the regular meat-eaters. Even carbohydrate in food can also help you in boosting longevity.
