Congratulations, we graduated to another new year with the same hope of being consistent or start the resolutions which we took in the beginning of 2023 or may be in the previous years. Most of the times, we take some new year resolutions and get excited to follow it. But unfortunately, we cannot keep it up till the end of the year. So, forget about moving it to the next year.

If you are thinking to gift yourself something worthy, then I would suggest you, gift yourself some “self-care” and some “wellness” routine. This may sound quite tedious for a while, but you promise to do it, then it’s quite easy. If you want, you can club both the routines to yourself and can give that much needed love to yourself. Here are some quick tips:
- You can do quick morning and nighttime skin care routines. Cleanse your face, apply some good quality serum, apply some moisturiser. If you can upgrade yourself to buy vegan, cruelty-free, SLS-free and harmful chemicals free skin care products; then you are doing loads of justice to your skin. Skin is the largest sense organ spreading and covering all of our body, that deserves some good caring.

- Recently, few months ago I started face massage before going to sleep. This is quite relaxing and also improves lymphatic tissue functions. You won’t be needing any skin treatment like, Botox or any chemicals directly injecting into your face.
- Do some stretching in the morning after waking up. I stretch for 20 minutes, and it made my body quite flexible. Women really need to take care of their body inside outside, irrespective of their age, marital status or motherhood status.
- Eat clean food. Mindful eating is a great habit which highlights how you care for yourself. As I’m a vegan, I eat loads of green vegetables, lentils, rice and citrus fruits.

- Meditation and chanting for the god you firmly believe in. Taking 10 – 15 minutes out from your busy schedule can easily make you feel better. It’s a great way to reduce stress and anxiety. You may not reduce the workload at workplace, but you can off course increase mindfulness.
- Reading self-help books is another beautiful activity you can include in your routine. Again, it’s not very expensive, yet gives you loads of knowledge. This also relaxes your mind. Reading right before going to bed also makes you feel sleepy faster. As a writer, I swear by reading every single day.
- YouTube is a great platform to learn more and more. I use this very frequently. I follow a list of YouTube channels and find their content very useful. In fact, I cracked a few riddles of my life by consuming self-help podcasts.

The above-mentioned self-care and wellness routine are not very expensive, but very useful to add into your life. Traveling is another fun activity one can execute, but you cannot do it often as its quite money consuming. Personally, I find cooking as a therapeutic stress-buster to me. I add my love and emotions while cooking to make it more delicious (that’s my secret ingredient).
There’s no set rule but doing self-care and wellness for yourself is essential. Some may call you a bit selfish but remember that self-care isn’t being selfish. It’s more of living yourself. So, keep loving yourself and keep making yourself happy. I impress myself almost every day and pat my back for having my own back.
