How to turn vegan in 2023?

I still receive questions from people that how did I turn myself vegan from being a hardcore meat, fish and egg eater. Honestly speaking, when I thought before converting, it was next to impossible for me. But I trained my brain, I gave pep talk to myself every single day. Here are the 3 things I told myself:

    • I have to reverse my type 2 diabetes

    • I don’t want to be dependent on medicines for the rest of my life, rather I would like food to be my core medicines.

    • I want to get better and want to take the charge of my mental and physical health into my own hands.

For me, these 3 reasons were more than enough to convert myself into a plant-based eater. So here are the simple changes I made in my schedule which worked as a miracle.

1. The time when I converted into vegan, I was working for an MNC and my work shift used to start at 6 AM, I used at wake up at 4.30 AM. So I wasn’t getting enough of vitamin D. So I made a routine of taking sun bath for 15 mins from 9 – 9.15 AM.

2. Thankfully, I was never a fussy child while eating green vegetables. So I started incorporating greens into my diet even more. So I started having salads in my dinner with rice, lentils and other vegetable curries.

3. I have always been a milk lover. Every single day I consumed cow milk. So finding an easy replacement for cow milk was a challenge to me. But again thankfully, almond, pistachios and walnut milk were available at the nearest supermarket. So I found the replacement pretty easily. I also learnt to make unsweetened almond milk at home during COVID19.

4. I started avoiding fruit juices. Many people say that having juice is great, but I realised that fruit juices increase the glucose level pretty rapidly and that’s not good for diabetic people. Rather having fresh fruits is good. So I started eating blueberries, kiwis, cranberries and grapes. These fruits provide enough of vitamin C and freshness.

5. I added more lentils and legumes in my diet to get enough of protein and other necessary nutrition. People think only meat, fish and eggs can provide you much needed protein and omega fatty 3 acid. But the same nutrients are available in lentils and legumes too. So if you are cooking it properly then you can hit the right chord for good health.

I reversed my type 2 diabetes and my eye sight too. These things are easy if you are being dedicated with right mindset. Setting the positive mindset is also very important. You can easily release the right energy and glow from your face and soul. Train your brain as well, the way I did. If you can train your mind then you can easily reverse your lifestyle diseases.

Hello. I agree with you. Even I too reversed my type 2 diabetes with the help of plant-based diet. My body aches (due to diabetes) also are gone.
