I am sure the term \”veganuary\” is something very new to all of you. It\’s a UK based non-profit organisation promoting a vegan lifestyle and encouraging people to consume more green vegetables instead of animal flesh. They started it in 2014 and since then every January month is the veganuary month for them. They encourage people to adopt a vegan lifestyle for an entire January month and continue for the rest of the year.
Jane Land and Matthew Glover launched it in 2014 and since then several participants are increasing every year. People register themselves online, and they receive a very basic vegan diet plan for the starters. Veganuary picked January a month to start with a new lifestyle as it is the beginning of the year. The new year can bring new hopes among the consumers.
Generally, during the new year, we celebrate and eat a lot of junk and unhealthy food. To begin a new year, we make a lot of new year resolutions, so turning a vegan could be your new year resolution. Human body and mind need at least 21 days to get accustomed to adopting something. That\’s why specialists picked the month of January as veganuary, so that consumers can make a healthy new year resolution and can also get accustomed to the new diet. They can continue it for the rest of the year. Those who are hardcore non-vegetarians might face a few problems but if they will follow it religiously, they would never leave vegan lifestyle at all.
Kellie Bright, a British actress is the new face of Veganuary 2020. She is encouraging many people for a better diet. Even many companies also participate in this drive and provide various diet plans with offers to people. Climate change awareness in 2019 also propelled the idea of turning vegan. In 2019, 250,000 participants registered across the globe. In 2020, 400,000 people registered and Veganuary company also introduced many vegan food products.
In a nutshell, people who are practising veganism are encouraging others to change their outlook. People think the vegan diet is insufficient in providing all the necessary nutrients to the body. Some also think that going vegan is like generalising all the diseases among the people. But they don\’t understand that if you will consume green food/vegetables more, you will enable your body to function better. It might not cure all sorts of diseases but it can do damage control done by the consumption of animal food products.
