The warrior diet is a type of diet where you can eat in cycles extended periods of little food consumption. It simply shows that you can eat less with various frequencies of diet. Some health experts believe that fasting is extreme and unnecessary for your health. This form of diet was created by Ori Hofmeklar in 2001 who was a former member of the Israeli Special Forces. He transitioned himself to the field of nutrition and fitness to help people who need help with their diet and fitness.

During ancient times, the warriors used to eat less during the daytime as they used to fight and used to do heavy physical work. They used to feast at night to consume the necessary nutrient. Ori believed that the warrior diet plan is very effective and it has the power to improve the way we look, the way perform and the way we eat. But Ori always opined that the diet he made is completely based on his thought process and no scientific and medical process involved in it.
Though this diet method is a bit rigorous compared to other intermittent fasting methods, till now no extensive research was made. It may improve brain activities and can help in reducing body weight. Decreasing inflammation in your body is another benefit which can help you to enhance the efficiency of your body. Those who are diabetic can also try this method. Initially, you might have face problems in controlling your hunger, but slowly your body will be accustomed to this fasting method soon.
Along with the benefits, there are some drawbacks of this warrior diet method:
- May not be able to handle hunger and might do uncontrolled eating
- Inappropriate for women, children, extreme athletes, people who are underweight
- Pregnant and nursing women cannot try this
- People with eating disorders or with any historical eating disorders
A ketosis diet, paleo diet, eat stop eat diet are the eminent competitor of the warrior diet. Due to nutritional infertility and nutritional discrepancy teens and children are suggested not to follow this diet. Though there\’s no evidence of proper scientific research on this intermittent fasting method, one should take care of the nutrition intake he/she is doing throughout the day. You can refrain yourself from consuming a high-protein diet, but you cannot refrain yourself from the basic essential nutrition.
