Fashion has been a favourite thing to most of us. From the time immemorial, people were always interested in fashion, be it clothes, shoes and accessories. People’s interest and craze never faded away. Charles Frederick Worth is mainly considered as the first fashion designer who owned a fashion label back in 1858.

Though fashion came into being, when humans started wearing clothes in the ancient times. Those days humans used to make their clothes from trees and animal skin, but later in the mid-19th century the concept of designing clothes changed completely. Designers and seamstresses came into being, whom people used to contact to design made-to-measure fashionable clothes.
Later on many renowned fashion brands started using animal fur and animal skin in their designs to make them look more appealing. Buyers also started finding it more elegant and flattering. Some also used to buy these fascinating clothes to prove their social status. Suddenly fashion became a benchmark to prove people’s royalty and high-end choices. But over the years nobody took interest in how fashion industries damaged the animals by extracting their skin and fur.
Animal fur (rabbit, mink, bunny and fox fur) obviously look classy and elegant, but nobody is concerned about the animals. These animals are been treated so badly and are been given excruciating pain to design clothes. We use shoes, handbags, wallets, belts and many more which are made from animal skin which is converted into leather.
But seeing the revolution across the globe, many huge fashion brands pledged to ban fur in their designs. Brands like Burberry, Calvin Klein, Versace, Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren and so on have stopped using animal fur. Recently, Valentino also pledged to stop using fur which was in news for quite some time. The world is slowly changing and they are able to understand the level of animal cruelty.
Personally, after turning vegan I stopped using leather handbags, wallets, belts and shoes. But thankfully, I never own fur clothes. I stopped using them considering the pain and torture animals go through. I have also watched many videos on animal cruelty happening across the globe for their skin and fur.

If we get a simple scratch on our skin we take so much of care of ourselves then being humans why can’t we feel the same for the animals. We can consider them as one of our own. We can speak for ourselves, but they can’t. I can recollect the famous dialogue from the film “Legally Blonde 2” “Who do you speak for?” Can’t we all speak for animals. We love them, some of us adopt them but we still directly or indirectly encourage animal cruelty across the globe.
