World Diabetes Day

My mother has been my inspiration since my childhood. I green up seeing her being a working woman, handling household affairs along with office work. I never saw her being irresponsible at work or at home. She is diabetic since 2009 and her health conditions also inspired me to spread awareness about diabetes.

Millions of people think diabetes is just a lifestyle diseases and “not eating sugar” can help it. When my mother came to know about her diabetes, she got it treated properly, took medicines on time and controlled her diet too. But still over the years her diabetes was always uncontrolled and sometimes controlled.

2 weeks ago, she fall sick and we rushed to the hospital. After various tests, we came to know that she got sepsis in her kidneys and liver and is also depositing some amount of water inside her body that’s why she was having trouble breathing. We took utmost care of her. She had to go ahead with few dialysis sessions as her creatinine levels were not reducing. I’m also thankful, that some of my close friends were in touch with me during this journey and kept encouraging me.

Now you all must be thinking that why am I sharing all these things. I literally lost my mind to take care of my mother. I stayed away from my work, so that I can offer the best care to her. But I was totally taken aback with the thought that how diabetes affected her so badly. She never neglected her health but still she has been suffering so much.

Go for complete diabetes tests package to get better idea about your health. Don’t take diabetes so lightly.
