1. I don’t waste vegetables, fruits and food items I buy for my daily use. Generally, I have seen people buying the food items and then they throw it into the dustbin. Don’t do it. Remember millions of people don’t get healthy square meal a day to eat.

2. I use LED lights in each and every room and put on lights when it’s completely dark outside. I love the natural sunlight, so I keep my windows and balcony doors open most of the hours of the day.

3. I love plants. Though I don’t have a wide range of plants as I stay at rented place, but I tried to keep few plants which can easily purify the air inside my home and can provide some freshness inside the home. I prefer to keep succulent plants as they are low maintenance plants and helps me to keep myself calm and vibrant.

4. I also don’t own animal leather stuffs. I’m still a handbag obsessed person, but I revamped my collection with few new brands which make non-animal leather bags. It was not easy to throw away my Jimmy Choo, Louis Vuitton and Fendi handbags.

5. I switched to bamboo tooth brushes from the normal branded plastic tooth brushes. It might sound negligible but believe me it does make a difference.

6. I eat plant-based food items, so I have given up meat, fish, eggs and any animal protein like milk and milk products. So I’m not part of the cruel poultry and dairy industry.

7. I donate clothes at some of the branded stores which accepts clothes in any condition and of any brands. It helps to recycle.

8. I rarely go to print papers for anything. When procuring hard copy is mandatory then only I get it or else I don’t get it. I stopped buying newspapers, so I read them online and make notes on my iPhone and iPad.

9. Recently I swapped some of my kitchen items to sustainable items. I gave up using plastic chopping board and instead I got bamboo chopping board. Purchased few wooden bowls and spatulas to use. I use utensils made of stainless steel or glass which are less harmful.

10. Last but off course not the least, I stopped using random big cosmetic brands. I love applying makeup and I consciously switched the brands from the usual brands to the cruelty-free and vegan cosmetic brands. Purchasing vegan cosmetics all the time might not be possible but owning cruelty-free cosmetics is a must for me.
