When I grew my interest in cosmetics back in 2019, I started watching few Indian YouTubers. Their creativity inspired me and led me to follow some foreigner makeup content creators too. I started following some from the USA, some from Paris and some from Italy too. This wide platform increased my knowledge about cosmetics. I discovered that most of the cosmetic brands are tested on animals and are not plant-based.
So I tried searching for vegan and cruelty-free cosmetic brands and interesting I found some owned by the Hollywood celebrities and some of them are available in India as well.

- Fenty Beauty: This brand is my the pop queen Rihanna. This brand offers a wide range of colour shades for every type of skin. Women from dark to fair complexion can use their products easily.
- Flower Beauty: Personally this is my favourite which is coming from the every cheerful Drew Barrymore. Starting from lipsticks to blush, everything is not just pocket friendly but all are easily available in India.
- Jaclyn Hill: Her eye makeup palettes are to die for recently launched in Indian in 2021. She rose to popularity with her YouTube channel where she posted various makeup videos. Her lipstick shades are also vibrant and highly pigmented.
- Nudestix: Recently, they also extended their business in India. Hillary Duff invested in this brand and some of the products were innovated based on her choices to make it more comfortable for women. Blush, highlighters and lipstick shades are something to die for.
- Jeffrey Star: The celebrity with the same name started his career with posting music videos on MySpace. In 2014, he launched his own cosmetic brand with 3 liquid lipsticks and now he is successfully running the brand with eyeshadow palettes, lip scrubs, mascara and so on.
- Rare Beauty: This brand was the brainchild of Selena Gomez and was launched in 2020. They offer a wide shade range of foundation, concealer, liquid lipsticks and liquid blush. Most of the YouTubers appreciate using her products as they are highly pigmented, vegan, cruelty-free and their philosophy is to use minimal products to create glamour outs looks.

There are few more brands but they are yet not easily available in India. Brands like, Wishful, Kora Organics, Goop, Victoria Beckham Beauty, MDNA, HipDot and so on. But now Indian cosmetic brands are coming up with this unique idea of being vegan and cruelty-free. Interestingly, some are sulphate-free, fragrance-free as well. Some alcohol-free beauty cleaning wipes are also available now in India.
