Carbon negative nations in the world

Last time when I posted about the list of the countries with the highest level of carbon emissions, few of my friends asked me to write about “carbon negative nations”. So here I’m as promised. The way we have a list of countries which emits the highest level of carbon on this planet, we also have the list of the countries which emits the least amount of carbon.

This is the only planet in this solar system as of now which has life and water. Pollution and carbon dioxide comes through machines, vehicles, various types of waste, electricity & heat, industry, chemical production and this never ending list will go on without a full stop. Below mentioned are the list of the carbon negative countries:

1. Bhutan is one of the first two countries which emitted less carbon in 2021. Bhutan produces less carbon due to the availability of high quality flora and fauna in the Eastern Himalayas.

2. Suriname is the second nation in the world which produces less carbon just like Bhutan. It is a tropical country, so the tropical vegetation covers most of the part of the country, hence, producing more moisture and humidity. The Atlantic shores also provide a beautiful landscape and underwater flora and fauna.

3. Tuvalu is the fourth smallest country in the world, henceforth, the population is very low. This Pacific Ocean country mainly earns through tourism and agriculture done by the local people. So the carbon production amount is very low.

4. Niue is another South Pacific country which produces less amount of carbon. This island was formed due to the volcanic eruption some 2-3 million years ago. People try to visit this island country to explore the underwater world. This is also the largest raised coral reef.

5. Nauru used to the homeland for the phosphate extractors but now its a refugee land to many people. Though the landscape has been destructed, but still Nauru is one of those countries whose carbon emissions are one of the least in the world.

6. Kiribati is one of the foremost countries in the world, which produces less carbon dioxide. Since they avoid international market relations that’s why they are still environment friendly nation. They are highly dependent on making crafts, fishing and tourism.

7. Tonga have the capacity to become the topmost country in producing the least carbon in the world. In 2019, they produced about 0.1 MtCO2 in a year. Though they export few of the food items to Japan, but their carbon footprints is comparatively low. They are highly dependent on tourism, fishing and agriculture.

8. St. Helena is a United Kingdom territory with zero CO2 emission in 2019. The country is full of volcanic landscape, tropical vegetation and forests. But they are one of the best quality flax seeds production.

9. Wallis and Futuna Islands is another tropical country with abundance of coconut and tropical fruits production. Locals produce their own food items and highly dependent on local food and fish.

10. Montessart is one of the five countries which produced the least amount of carbon dioxide in the world in 2019. Though this island is a Caribbean Islands, but still it’s part of the UK territory. Volcano erupted in 1995 after centuries of dormancy.

These were the top 10 countries in the world producing the least amount of carbon in the world. It took few days for me to put everything together and come up with this blog post. Hope you can gain some knowledge from this.
