Research on plant-based diet has been going on for many years by now. When I was turning vegan, I started digging more and more into this diet and wanted to know more. I came to know that our centuries old generation, were highly dependent on plant-based diet and they were in much better shape. Later, humans started cooking with the discovery of fire and that’s how the trend of cooking meat in slow heat came into being. Centuries later, humans added varieties of spices to make their food delicious. So today, I thought of sharing some of those world renowned doctors who feel plant-based diet can be the game-changer for all of us.

1. Neal Barnard:
Dr. Meal Barnard is one of the most popular plant-based doctor who is not just world renowned but also a board certified psychiatrist too. He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He founded Physicians Committee for Responsible. Medicine (PCRM) in 1985 to spread awareness on preventive medicine. His first book was “The Power of Your Plate” and later on he published, “Food For Life”, “Foods that Fight Pain”, “Your Body in Balance: the New Science of Food, Hormones and Health” etc.

2. Brooke Goldner:
At the age of 16, Goldbner was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Nephritis and stage IV kidney issues. Till 28, she kept fighting against these diseases. Along with her husband, she created her own diet and healing plan. She kept following it religiously and cured her life threatening diseases. She eliminated animal products and processed food from her diet, started consuming lot of water and other essential nutrients. Later she became these auto-immune diseases free and have two healthy children. Her most famous book is “Goodbye Lupus”.

3. Michael Greger:
The other name of the modern vegan diet is Michael Greger. He founded “Nutrition Facts” and has been part of many scientific findings on plant based diet. His career was inspired by his grandmother who died at the age of 65 due to end stage heart disease and was sent to home by her doctors. Her heart issues was detected decades ago, but with the help of Nathan Pritikin, she left wheel chair after 3 weeks and started walking for miles. His bestseller book is “How Not To Die”. His famous documentaries are “PlantPure Nation”, “Eating You Alive”, and “What the Health”.

4. Caldwell Esselstyn:
Dr Esselstyn is one of the foremost specialists and experts who truly believed in plant-based diet. He became more famous globally when he treat heart problems of Bill Clinton, ex US President. He has got the reputation of reversing numerous people’s coronary artery blockage issues with the help of proper medical attention and plant based diet. He advocated mainly for low-fat and whole plant diet which gives enough nutrition to us. One of his best selling books is “Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease”.

Dr. Sadeghi is one of the most well known name in the field of gastroenterology. She is one of the diplomats of the American Board of Internal Medicine and American Board of Gastroenterology.
