The 4th Vegan Fashion Week is about to open on 10th October in association with Ukrainian Fashion Week. The collaboration between Vegan Fashion Week and Ukrainian Fashion Week is going to be a creative and environment friendly fashion show where the fashion experts will bring their best creation. They both will share an honest message for the planet. Their aim is to bring environment friendly fashion without harming the planet.

Theme of the Vegan Fashion Week 2022
The event is going to take place at the recently renovated California Market Centre and tickets are available online. Ukraine is bringing up a strong message in terms of fashion that how it evolved due to the war and certain political turmoils going through in their country. The major theme of this fashion week is COMPASSION. The fashion designers are presenting their best work with the amalgamation of biodiversity, human touch and how our planet earth is getting impacted due to the war and other global warming issues.
Ukrainian Fashion Week
“For 25 years, we have worked hard to become the unifying force of the fashion industry and its most influential player. In 1997 designers received a call from the Ukrainian Fashion Week to unite in the industry, and today UFW is developing in key areas – sustainability, digitalization, inclusion and diversity. Since the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022, all of us are living in a state of incredible stress and survival that everyone feels in every corner of our country. However, Ukrainian designers found the strength during the war to create new collections to tell the whole world about Ukrainian resilience and courage, as well as to show Ukrainian national identity through fashion.” This was the official statement by Iryna Danylevska, CEO and co-founder of the Ukrainian Fashion Week.
Since 2006, the founders of Ukrainian Fashion Week, have been organising this event in Ukraine, mostly in Kiev. But this year due to the destructive war, they decided to collaborate with Vegan Fashion Week in Los Angeles. The Vegan Fashion Week have highlighted themselves for the past 3 years as a platform to revolutionise the world of glamorous fashion without harming the animals and the planet.
Benefits of the Vegan Fashion Week
Since its initiation, the Vegan Fashion Week is attracting immense popularity in the world of fashion. Here are some of the benefits I could make out:
1. The fashion designers use plant-based materials to create their designer pieces. Animal-derived products (fur and skin) are strictly banned.
2. As the animal derived products are banned in the vegan fashion, that’s why animals can be protected and can stay safe.
3. Almost 60% of the clothes are made from polyester (plastics) which is not sustainable and highly harmful for the environment. You cannot dispose or discard polyester clothes after years of use as they contain plastics.
4. Microplastics and post-consumer waste are real big issues for the nature. They get deposited in the soil or in water which raises the soil and water pollution rapidly. Vegan fashion don’t use such materials.
5. Almost 70 million tons of trees per year are getting destroyed due to the chemical composition comes out through the polyester thread making process. By 2034, this number is expected to get double if we are not inclining ourselves towards vegan fashion.
6. Organic and recycled plant fibre are easily available and nature friendly. Plant fibre like cotton, bamboo, hemp and flax are easy to use.
