I was very excited to attend India Energy Week 2023 in Bangalore on 8th February. The event was there only for three days from 6th to 8th February 2023. The honourable Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi inaugurated this event on 6th February at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre. “Growth. Collaboration. Transition” was the theme for this year. India is the host for G20 summit in September 2023, so a chain of various events occurring in various parts of India, which is also known as G20 India Presidency.
At COP26 meet, India PM Modi pledged to go zero with carbon emission by 2070. This event in Bangalore was organised under the patronage of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. Hardeep Singh Puri is India’s Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas who was also present at the event on 6th February. The other critical issues which were covered in this event were energy security and environmental sustainability. The high levels of carbon emission impacts poorly on the environment. India anyway is standing at the fourth position in terms of producing carbon footprints in the world. As per the data published in 2021, India produced 7% of the world’s carbon. Bellow mentioned link will throw some more light of this fact.
